Chapter 1
My friend Kelly and I were shopping at the mall waiting for the Hanson concert that would be going on later that night. Shopping just seemed like the easiest way to make time pass.
"Kelly, oh my god, don't look. I swear that is Hanson right over there. I know the whole day I've been seeing Hanson, but this time I'm for real! Just don't scream, look casual." Her eyes nearly dropped out of her head when I said that, she turned around slowly, and looked. She paused and we were silent, she turned to me, and started screaming as loud as she could. "Kelly shut up, Kelly please shut up!" I cupped my hand over her mouth and started shaking her, and then made her still.
"Shut......up.....!" I said slowly. When she stopped screaming I cautiously took my hand off her mouth. She looked like she'd just seen a ghost. "Are you gonna be quiet now?" I asked, she nodded quickly. "Kelly, now let's go over because they are staring at us, thanks to you.
I'm going to explain things, and you...aren't.......going........to scream!!!!" We walked over, and smiled, I nearly dragged Kelly over. She was tripping all over her shopping bags. "Kelly, can't you act normal?" I whispered to her. She shook her head. When we reached the store they were in, they had noticed us walking over, and smiled back. "Hi, I'm Sarah, and this is my friend Kelly, the one that was screaming. We are like....., your biggest fans." "Are you going to the concert tonight?" Isaac asked. "Of course. Our seats aren't great, but ya' know!" I answered. "We were just about to go out to lunch. Do you want to come with? Nothing special!" Taylor offered. "We'd love to, but Kelly has her car with so we'd have to drive separately!" I told him. Kelly was 17 and had her license already, I was only 16, and only had a nice little plastic piece of paper called a permit. I liked being 16 though since Taylor was 16 and we were only 16 days a part, and he just happened to be my favorite Hanson. "Well, why don't me and Sarah take Kelly's car, and Kelly can drive with you guys?" Taylor said. We all nodded and headed to the closest fast food restaurant there was. Taylor and I sat down at a booth, and Kelly, Isaac and Zac sat down at the one next to ours. Isaac looked at me smiling and shaking his head. "Sarah come with me, we'll go get the food." I got up and walked with him to the front. "Sarah, Taylor likes you, and everyone with us knows it besides you. Next thing you know, he'll be buying you things, and asking you to marry him. He's never had a girlfriend before. So he might come on kind of strong." Isaac told me, we both laughed a little, and then looked away from each other. I quickly looked back at him and said, "I like him a lot!" "I know." He said. We brought the food back, and sat down. Afterwards me and Taylor drove back to my house with Kelly following with Isaac and Zac in their car. "Sarah, you want to go with me?" Taylor asked. "What? You're crazy, Isaac told me you'd do something like this." I said back. "No, I'm serious, your different Sarah, I like talking to you." "We can always talk. Taylor you just met me. Are you sure?" He nodded. "Okay." I answered.
Chapter 2
It was silent for the rest of the way home. When we arrived at my house, Kelly had just pulled up with us. I began to get out of the car, "Sarah, I'll be back later to pick you up, about an hour before the show." "You don't have to do that!" "I know," he said, "don't forget, and tell Kelly too." Kelly got out of their car, and Taylor got out of Kelly's. She waved to them and walked up to me. "I'm gonna leave now and get ready. Okay?" "Alright, but Taylor's going to pick us up an hour before, so be ready over here." I told her starting to walk into my house, "Bye!"
He arrived with Isaac and Zac right when he said he would. I got in the front with Taylor and Kelly got in the back. Before we left, Taylor said, "Sarah I'm going to give you and Kelly front row instead of balcony, and our bodyguard is gonna bring you to your seats. Me, Isaac and Zac are gonna get ready and come out and do a sound check. You guys are going to have to watch that." Everyone nodded in agreement, and we left. After the show, Taylor brought Kelly back to her house, and started driving me home. He walked me to my doorstep, and we both stopped. "I've got to wake up early and do some stuff tomorrow, so I guess I'll be going." he said. "Yeah. So......goodnight?" I tilted my head a little. Taylor put his right hand on the side of my face and moved in for a kiss. But every time Taylor got close to me, I'd start thinking of what Isaac said. We kissed that night, and then he left.
I didn't think too much about it those next four weeks, but it seemed like there wasn't a Taylor Hanson that I could always talk to. He was never even home, and I should' ve known better. That night I took down from my mirror every picture I'd ever taken of us together. I set the last photo down on my dresser when my doorbell rang. I could hear Taylor downstairs talking to my mom. His footsteps coming closer and closer to my door. I hurried to turn off my light and get in my bed, and pretend like I was sleeping. He knocked on my door lightly and walked in. He turned the light on, and looked over at me in the bed. I was faced the opposite direction of him trying not open my eyes too wide.
He walked over to the side of my bed and sat down. "I wish you were awake right now. I just wanted to tell that I'm sorry for not being home for the past month. I should' ve at least called. And I know this is a really weird time to tell you this, since we've never said it to each other before, but.........I love you! I came back to see you tonight because I know it's your 17th birthday tomorrow. But I guess I'll be going, I feel kind of dumb talking to you when you aren't even awake. " He walked towards the door, but stopped at my mirror, and noticed the pictures. One by one, he put them back up, and turned my light off, and shut the door.
Chapter 3
I turned around and faced my door, sat there a few seconds and then ran down the stairs to catch up with him. I jumped off the last stair and into his arms. My fear of closeness and anything I'd ever feared, had just suddenly, in that moment, gone away. "Taylor, I've got a confession to make.......," I told him, "I love you too!!" "Sarah, tomorrow's your birthday, and I have a big surprise for you, something you'll never forget. We're gonna go to the park, and you'll see what it is!"
The next morning we did go to the park, it was only around 10:30am. We walked to the swings and sat down. He took my hands and said, "Are you ready?" I nodded, and smiled. He smiled back and let go of my left hand but held onto the right. Slowly he bent down on one knee. He pulled a black velvet box from his pocket and opened it. Inside was a diamond ring. "Sarah, I bought this the second day we were together, I knew you'd be the girl I'd marry. So, I'm asking you, will you be my wife?" With a big smile on my face I nodded. I got down on my two knees with him and we hugged. "I would love to be your wife." I said.
Chapter 4
We both went to college for four years. Taylor stopped touring, and me and him were supported with over a million dollars. We started a family two years later with twins. One girl and a boy. We named the girl Shawn and the boy Taylor Jr. Our 10th year anniversary was tomorrow, and he had something planned for us, and everyday I became more curious about it.
The next day, I woke up and he was already dressed and hurried me to get ready. We drove for a half hour and then he stopped the car on the side of the road. He covered my eyes and we began to walk. He kept my eyes covered. We stopped, and he took his hands off my eyes. I looked ahead seeing the same swing set, and the same park he'd proposed to me at, same time.
We sat down on the swing set, and he pulled out a small black velvet box from his pocket. Taylor opened it, and pulled out a ring. He slipped it on my middle finger, and smiled. It was my birth stone, "I love you Sarah! Happy anniversary, and happy birthday!"
Chapter 5: The End
"Thank you Taylor!" I said, "You know I love you too!" We stayed together, and Shawn and Taylor went off to College when they were both 18. Shawn went to University of Duluth, and Taylor went to Boston University. Taylor and I were alone in our home for a long time, Shawn and Taylor Jr. would come home for the holidays with their families occasionally. They both married, and had 2 kids. Shawn had a girl named Skylar Grace, and a boy named Alex Michael. And Taylor Jr. had two girls, one named Brooklyn Love, and the youngest was Heather Marie.
Isaac and Zac had wives and children of their own also. Their kids were grown up, around 18. They'd visit me and Taylor all the time. We eventually moved to New York, where we lived in a large house. Taylor did one solo album, and didn't do so well. He decided to retire from music for good. I had a job as a nurse for a year, but quit, and stayed home with Taylor. His mother died the first of March when she was 84, his dad dies two year after. It was hard on Taylor to loose both his parents so quickly, but with Isaac and Zac around it made it easier. None of Taylor's other brothers or sisters married, they weren't all that much older than Zac and Isaac's kids. Kelly married, had four kids, and died in the labor of the last one. I almost had a terrible nervous breakdown. Losing Kelly was the second most hurtful thing that happened through my years.
When Taylor turned 48, he was diagnosed with leukemia, and died a year after. I was left with a big family, but not the person that had started it. Isaac and Zac were at my home everyday after that happened.
Slowly Isaac died, then Zac. Everyone that had been there for me for so long was suddenly gone. So one night I closed my eyes, and decided not to open them ever again.
The End!
